André Fortin has been the Member of the National Assembly (MNA) for Pontiac since April 7, 2014. Originally from Quyon, and now residing in Aylmer with his wife Marlene and their daughter, André Fortin understands both the rural and urban challenges of his region.
André Fortin most recently held the position of director of government relations at TELUS. Throughout his career he has, among other roles, served as press attaché to the Canadian Minister of Transport, Jean Lapierre and leader of the official opposition. He also served as director of communications for the Honourable Ralph Goodale and worked in the office of the Prime Minister of Canada. André holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Ottawa.
Mr. Fortin was a member of the board of directors of the Terasse Lakeview tenant’s association and served as president of the parent’s committee of Garderie de la Marina. An active volunteer in Aylmer, he has been involved in several local events and organizations over the years. A long-time political activist, André Fortin was the president of the provincial Pontiac Liberal Association and now sits as an MNA on the executive committee of the Quebec Liberal Party.
