Guy Hardy is a Sherbrooker in heart and soul. Involved for the longest time in the Sherbrooke community, today he aspires to representing his fellow citizens at the National Assembly. He is the new deputy of Saint-François since April 7, 2014.
He holds a Diploma in Industrial Design from Sherbrooke CEGEP, a certificate in business management from the same institution, and Diploma in General Insurance Brokering as well as a Diploma for training as a life insurance agent.
Guy Hardy has always been attracted by the worlds of finance and business and that is why he launched his career in insurance. After receiving several certificates in insurance sales, he became a broker with Allstate and La Métropolitaine, both in Sherbrooke. After enjoying success as a broker, he became manager of two Duro-Vitres autoglass shops in Sherbrooke and Quebec City. Ten years later, he became the owner of a Vitroplus auto repair shop as well as a Discount auto rental outlet.
A man deeply involved in his community, he was named “Volunteer ambassador of the year” for 2007 for the Centre hospitalier universitaire of Sherbrooke (CHUS). He has been among other things a Member of the Board for the Fondation Mgr. Jean-Marie Fortier, as well as the executive committee of the Sherbrooke Chamber of Commerce. H also served as Ambassador of the CHUS foundation.
