Luc Blanchette is a brilliant economist from Abitibi-Témiscamingue and the father of three Children. On the April 7, 2014, he becamed the MNA of Rouyn-Noranda-Témiscamingue.
He received his DEC from CÉGEP de Trois-Rivières (1979), a B.A. in Economic Sciences from l’Université de Sherbrooke (1982) and a Master’s degree in Project Management from l’Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (1996). The focus for his post graduate degree was methods of cost/benefits analysis.
His training as an Economist has led him to occupy several functions over the last 30 years. He began as a development agent with the Conseil régional de développement de l’Estrie, and then served as a regional economist with Hydro-Quebec, then as head of client relations for the Secrétariat à la jeunesse de Sherbrooke; regional economist for the Commission de formation professionnelle de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue. He was also a Professor of Economics at the CÉGEP de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue , head lecturer at the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, and consulting economist with the firm L.B. Consultation.
If Luc Blanchette possesses an exemplary CV careerwise, his community engagements are just as impressive. Over the years he has been a member of more than 15 committees with union, administrative and professional vocations. He also has served as Chairman of the Board of the Maison de la famille de Rouyn-Noranda and member of the Board of the CLSC Partage-des-eaux de Rouyn-Noranda, among others.
