Martin Coiteux is the MNA of Nelligan since April 2014.

He holds a B.A. in Economic Sciences from Université  de Sherbrooke, a Master’s in the same subject from Queen’s University and a doctorate in Economic Sciences from l’Institut universitaire de Hautes études internationales of Geneva.

Economist and world class researcher, he gravitated directly toward teaching once his doctorate was achieved, and lectured on applied economics as well as international economic institutions. After more than 10 years of teaching, he joined the Bank of Canada, Quebec Sector, in December 2012 as a Senior Consultant.

On the strength of his university background, Martin has developed into a specialist in monetary policies and comparative economies. He has authored and co-authored many scientific articles as well as works on economic contexts in Quebec and Canada. He also served as study director for   l’Idée fédérale, a Quebec-based network reflecting on federalism.
