Backed by a Bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance, as well as an MBA, Stéphane Billette has been consistently involved in the region, which is reflected in his nine years of experience in economic development. In addition to holding other positions, he has worked as Director General, Haut-Saint-Laurent local development centre(CLD), industrial commissioner for the Beauharnois-Salaberry local development centre (CLD), and as economic development officer for the Beauharnois-Salaberry economic development corporation. Until November 2008, he was co-owner of a distribution company.
Involved in his community, he was the founding member of the Club Export du Suroît and board member of the Fonds régional de solidarité, Montérégie International, Montérégie Économique and the Abracadabra childcare centre (CPE). He has also served as a member of the Beauharnois-Salaberry socioeconomic policy and planning committee, the Highway 30 regional action committee, the Board of Directors of the Office du tourisme du Suroît and the Noranda Zinc liaison committee.
Boasting excellent leadership skills and determination, Stéphane Billette has enjoyed a career filled with experiences that will without a doubt benefit the citizens in his riding. He was elected as member for Huntingdon in the provincial election held on December 8, 2008. Since February 10, 2011, he has served as parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Sustainable Development, the Environment and Parks.
Elected to the National Assembly in 2008, Stéphane Billette continues to actively work for the people in his riding. He was re-elected in 2012 and 2014.
