300 autobus hybrides supplémentaires pour Montréal

MONTRÉAL, January 9, 2018. – The Government of Quebec and the Ville de Montréal have confirmed the launch of the process, and their financial support, for the acquisition of 300 additional hybrid buses by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM), which are slated for delivery by 2020.

This major improvement to the public transportation service will be carried out through a call for tenders launched by the STM this morning. The STM’s vehicle fleet will grow from 1,807 buses, in January 2018, to 2,107 in December 2020.

André Fortin, Minister of Transport, Sustainable Mobility and Transport Electrification, made the announcement today. He was accompanied by Martin Coiteux, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy, Minister of Public Security and Minister responsible for the Montréal region, by Montréal Mayor Valérie Plante, and by Philippe Schnobb, Chairman of the Board of the STM.

The addition of theses buses to our fleet is excellent news for our users, and the STM is thrilled with this decision.
