Montrealers have made transport a priority issue, and today my administration is showing that their voices have been heard. Thanks to the collaboration and commitment of all our partners, we are in a position to create tangible results for citizens. The addition of 300 buses by 2020 is excellent news for users, who will be able to benefit from a faster, more efficient transportation service.

The addition of theses buses to our fleet is excellent news for our users, and the STM is thrilled with this decision. There’s no doubt that it will have a positive effect on service, since 300 buses represents around 15% of our current fleet. In practical terms, this means more frequent and comfortable service for our clientele and a clear acceleration of our 2025 organizational strategic plan.

The acquisition of these 300 buses:
- Puts the STM ahead of schedule for the objective in its 2025 organizational strategic plan;
- Will increase the STM’s number of buses from 1,807, in January 2018, to 2,107 in 2020;
- Will be financed by various government support programs in effect for public transportation.
