The QLP Demands More for Our Teachers

2019 Teacher Appreciation Week

QUEBEC, February 7, 2019. – During Teacher Appreciation Week the MNA for Saint-Laurent and Official Opposition Critic for Education, Higher Education and the Digital Strategy, Marwah Rizqy, underscored the invaluable contributions of teachers throughout Quebec who work to develop our most precious resource- our children.

On this important occasion, Ms. Rizqy also encouraged the government to provide additional recognition for the teaching profession by making significant investments so that Quebec can continue to recruit, train and retain quality teachers within the education network.

During this 25th Teacher Appreciation Week I would like to thank all teachers for what they do every day, with such devotion and without counting their hours, to help today’s generation face their future. It is the perfect occasion for Education Minister Jean-François Roberge to take concrete steps toward offering better recognition for the teaching profession by improving teachers’ working conditions. Education is supposed to be the government’s priority. Recess is over, it’s time to get to work.
