En route to the 2018 general election
Windsor, April 29, 2018. – Surrounded by many party members and supporters, Annie Godbout was nominated as the official candidate for the Quebec Liberal Party (QLP) in the riding of Richmond for the upcoming 2018 general election.
It’s a privilege and an honour to take over from the Vallières family. I am a woman of action, and my political engagement takes place on the ground, in contact with citizens. In the coming months I will criss-cross the riding of Richmond to meet with elected officials, organizations and residents, to listen to them and further my understanding of the issues in the region. My objective is clear: to be a sizeable ally in making the projects that we care about move forward.

The Liberal government has balanced our public finances to give us the means to invest more in our priorities. Since May 2014, over 238,600 jobs have been created in Quebec; the unemployment rate has been at an all-time low for several months; over 1,000,000 Quebecers now have access to a family doctor; taxes have decreased; and major investments have been made in health and education, in particular.
My career in the field of information and communications technology motivates me to be a prominent actor in the development of a modern Québec. As a Municipal Councillor since 2013, I know that citizen involvement helps advance projects. I am making this leap into provincial politics in order to further my commitment to work, in concert with all the partners, towards the well-being of the communities and the economic prosperity of the entire Richmond riding.
