En route to the 2018 general election

Brownsburg-Chatham, May 25, 2018. – Surrounded by many party members and supporters, Bernard Bigras-Denis was nominated as the official candidate for the Quebec Liberal Party (QLP) in the riding of Argenteuil for the upcoming 2018 general election.

Mr. Bigras-Denis is a young father who has been a resident of Lachute for almost 30 years. He is very involved in his community, and has received a lot of support from party members, who came to meet him and discuss his passion for Argenteuil.

I am very thankful to all of you today. Because of your support, I can now fulfill my desire to serve and proudly represent you in the coming elections. It is an honour for me to take up this new challenge, and I am happy to be doing it along with you.

He then went on to thank his spouse and his family for supporting him from the very beginning.

André Fortin, Minister of Transport, Sustainable Mobility and Transport Electrification, came to express his support for the candidate. He said he was delighted to see that the QLP has qualified and dynamic new people who want to contribute to the advancement of Québec and its regions.

The Liberal candidate for Argenteuil also received considerable local support! Jimmy Desabrais, recipient of the entrepreneur of the year prize, Argenteuil businessman and co-owner of the DD Design company, had only good things to say about Mr. Bigras-Denis.

Note that the Liberal government has balanced our public finances to give us the means to invest more in our priorities. Since May 2014, more than 224,800 jobs have been created in Québec; the unemployment rate has been at an all-time low for several months; over 1,000,000 Quebecers now have access to a family doctor; taxes have decreased; and major investments have been made, particularly in health and education.

Once again, thank you for your trust. I plan to go out and talk with the citizens of Argenteuil over the next few weeks in order to discuss the issues that concern us all. We will carry out this campaign together, and we will work together to ensure our victory on October 1st.
