QUÉBEC CITY, June 12, 2018 – Lise Thériault, Minister responsible for Consumer Protection and for Housing, has announced that Québec City will receive $36 million to build 400 social housing units.
Québec City has been awarded these housing units thanks to its status as an agent of the AccèsLogis Québec program, run by the Société d’habitation du Québec (SHQ). This status will allow the City to build these housing units on its territory based on its needs.
The new units are intended for families, seniors or individuals with low to moderate income, as well as people with particular housing needs, such as homeless people, people with disabilities or victims of domestic violence. As a matter of fact, 40 units will be built specifically for those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
