En route to the 2018 general election
Québec City, June 21, 2018. — Surrounded by many party members and supporters, François Blais, Member for Charlesbourg and Minister of Employment and Social Solidarity, was nominated as the official candidate for the Quebec Liberal Party (QLP) in the riding of Charlesbourg for the upcoming 2018 general election.
For more than four years now, I have had the opportunity and privilege to represent the residents of Charlesbourg. I have brought their voice to the National Assembly and defended their interests in order to advance important issues for our riding. I am proud of the Liberal team’s work over the past four years, and I am seeking a new mandate on October 1 with great confidence.
– François Blais, MNA for Charlesbourg, Minister of Employment and Social Solidarity and Liberal candidate for the general election of 2018.
Note that the Liberal government has balanced our public finances to give us the means to invest more in our priorities. Since May 2014, more than 229,500 jobs have been created in Québec; the unemployment rate has been at an all-time low for several months; over 1,000,000 Quebecers now have access to a family doctor; taxes have decreased; and major investments have been made, particularly in health and education.
We will offer Quebecers the opportunity to continue our momentum with a strong and renewed team. Our government has accomplished many things over the past four years and we had the courage to respect our commitments. More than ever, Québec needs an experienced, visionary and credible team to deal with the realities we will face in the upcoming years, including economic realities.
– François Blais, MNA for Charlesbourg, Minister of Employment and Social Solidarity and Liberal candidate for the general election of 2018.
