Guy Bourgeois, Liberal candidate in the riding of Abitibi-Est

En route to the 2018 general election

Val-d’Or, May 24, 2018. – Surrounded by many party members and supporters, Guy Bourgeois was nominated as the official candidate for the Quebec Liberal Party (QLP) in the riding of Abitibi-Est for the upcoming 2018 general election.

I am an MNA who works on the ground, and I plan to stay very active in order to properly defend the interests of the citizens of Abitibi-Est. Since my election in 2014, we have delivered on many levels, but my work is not yet finished. Many challenges and issues are still present, and I am committed to bringing them to Québec City in order to find concrete solutions that make sense for a region like Abitibi-Témiscamingue.

Note that the Liberal government has balanced our public finances to give us the means to invest more in our priorities. Since May 2014, more than 224,800 jobs have been created in Québec; the unemployment rate has been at an all-time low for several months; over 1,000,000 Quebecers now have access to a family doctor; taxes have decreased; and major investments have been made, particularly in health and education.

With my four years of experience representing my riding in the National Assembly, I am very confident that the population will recognize my tireless work and all the promises kept. I am seeking a new mandate because there is more work to be done in health and education, and it is important to find real solutions to the labour shortage and to find ways to better support our community organizations.

I have had the opportunity to collaborate with Mr. Bourgeois several times over the last few years. He is an MNA who works for the people of his riding, and who is interested in the issues that concern them. Apart from being active in his riding, Mr. Bourgeois is very present in the National Assembly. He sits on several committees, and his work is greatly appreciated by his colleagues. Through his attention, he contributes to making advancements that will have a positive effect on both his riding and the entire region. He is an MNA who centres his efforts on the concerns of the people he represents at the National Assembly.
