The Quebec Liberal Party (QLP) is announcing major changes to its leadership race to respect the Public Health Directorate’s guidelines regarding the coronavirus.
The 5 debates that were to be held in various regions of Quebec over the coming weeks will be replaced by debates without audiences which will be broadcast via Internet on the QLP’s Facebook Page, as well as on its website. Details concerning the debates will be conveyed at a later date.
The QLP will still have a new leader on May 31st
This situation does not affect the voting period during which members will choose the new leader, as it was already planned to be held via telephone or Internet from May 24th to 31st inclusively.
However, the physical gathering at the Convention which was to be held on May 30th and 31st is cancelled until further notice. The Party is currently working to prepare a solution for its members that is adapted to the current situation.
