International Women’s Day 2018

QUÉBEC CITY, March 8, 2018 – On this International Women’s Day, the Minister responsible for Higher Education and the Status of Women, Hélène David, wishes to emphasize the importance of gender equality as an agent of social development and economic prosperity.

The minister would like to thank partners in the field throughout Quebec whose work helps women to realize their full potential. By passing laws, adopting policies and creating and implementing strategies, action plans and programs, the Government of Quebec is contributing to the advancement of gender equality.

Quotes:

Though important progress has been made in Quebec, it is past time to eradicate the prejudices that stand in the way of women’s access to certain professions and to the highest levels of organizations. Today, I will meet with nurses, policewomen, farmers, managers, mothers and caregivers who work every day to improve our quality of life. Let these women inspire us to persevere in our fight for equality. Let us continue to take our place in society!
