En route to the 2018 general election

Rivière-du-Loup, April 8, 2018. – Surrounded by hundreds of supporters, Jean D’Amour was nominated as the official candidate for the Quebec Liberal Party (QLP) in the riding of Rivière-du-Loup–Témiscouata for the upcoming 2018 general election.

It’s an enormous privilege and I’m very proud to be named as an official candidate for my party, the Quebec Liberal Party, in the major election this fall, in order to once again represent the citizens of Rivière-du-Loup–Témiscouata.

– Jean D’Amour, MNA for Rivière-du-Loup–Témiscouata, Minister for Maritime Affairs, Minister responsible for the Bas-Saint-Laurent region and candidate in the 2018 general election.

The Liberal government has balanced our public finances to give us the means to invest more in our priorities. Since May 2014, over 238,600 jobs have been created in Quebec; the unemployment rate has been at an all-time low for several months; over 1,000,000 Quebecers now have access to a family doctor; taxes have decreased; and major investments have been made in health and education, in particular.

Quebec’s prosperity and momentum is achieved above all through the well-being of families and the success of socioeconomic and community-based entrepreneurs. The economic development of Quebec’s regions has always been one of my priorities and I will remain attentive to the needs of the partners of my region—more specifically the riding of Rivière-du-Loup–Témiscouata—so that our regional skills and expertise can be recognized beyond our borders more than ever.

– Jean D’Amour, MNA for Rivière-du-Loup–Témiscouata, Minister for Maritime Affairs, Minister responsible for the Bas-Saint-Laurent region and candidate in the 2018 general election.
