En route to the 2018 general election

Montréal, June 10, 2018. – Surrounded by party members and supporters, Kathleen Weil was nominated as the official candidate for the Quebec Liberal Party (QLP) in the riding of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce for the upcoming 2018 general election.

Since 2014, we have accomplished great things in the riding of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, notably in the healthcare, education and transportation sectors: the completion and official opening, in July 2015, of the McGill University Health Center, flagship of the healthcare system in Québec, the creation of the Queen Elizabeth super clinic in 2017, the construction of École Saint-Raymond in 2016, the reconstruction of École Sainte-Catherine-de-Sienne to be completed in September 2019, and the construction of the Vendôme intermodal hub, including a universally accessible tunnel, which will be fully operational in 2020. By working with community and institutional partners and with elected officials at the three level of government, I will continue to support the constituents of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce and Montreal West, both recognized as open, dynamic and welcoming communities.

The Liberal government has restored the balance of Québec’s public finances, giving us the means to invest in our priorities. Since May 2014, more than 224,800 jobs have been created in Québec; the unemployment rate has been at an all-time low for several months; over 1,000,000 Quebecers now have access to a family doctor; taxes have decreased; and major investments have been made, particularly in health and education.

It is a tremendous honour for me to represent the Quebec Liberal Party once again in the riding of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce in the upcoming October 1st general election. I am very enthusiastic to embark on this campaign for the support of the people of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce to represent them in a strong Liberal government under the leadership of Premier Philippe Couillard!
