The Leader of the Official Opposition, Mr. Pierre Arcand, has entrusted the municipal affairs file to Ms. Lise Thériault, the MNA representing Anjou–Louis-Riel.

Ms. Thériault remains responsible for Housing and Consumer Protection.

Ms. Thériault is an experienced parliamentarian who has defending citizens’ interests at heart. The renegotiation of the fiscal pact this fall will elicit many reactions within the municipal sector. Ms. Thériault will contribute constructive elements to that debate and will intervene to ensure that citizens are able to draw the best possible benefits from the agreement. François Legault has already signalled that municipalities will receive less than they were promised during the election campaign. Our critic will closely monitor the government to ensure that they respect their commitments.

–Pierre Arcand, Leader of the Official Opposition

Elected MNA of Anjou-Louis-Riel in 2002, Ms. Thériault has since multiplied her parliamentary roles. She has led a number of ministries including Public Security, Labour, Immigration, the Status of Women, Consumer Protection and Housing, Regional Economic Development as well as Minister responsible for the Lanaudière region.
