En route to the 2018 general election
Sherbrooke, April 8, 2018. – Surrounded by many party members and supporters, Luc Fortin was nominated as the official candidate for the Quebec Liberal Party (QLP) in the riding of Sherbrooke for the upcoming 2018 general election.
It’s been four years to the day since the people of Sherbrooke honoured me with their trust by electing me as the MNA for Sherbrooke in the National Assembly. For four years, I have had the fortune of representing this dynamic, engaged, warm, open and accepting community. Today, it’s with great enthusiasm that I announce that I will once again be the Quebec Liberal Party candidate in the election this fall. I want to further the bond that I have established with Sherbrooke’s population and I know that, together, we will continue to accomplish great things in order for our region to reach its highest potential.
– Luc Fortin, MNA for Sherbrooke, Minister of Families, Minister responsible for the Estrie region and Liberal candidate for the 2018 general election.
The Liberal government has balanced our public finances to give us the means to invest more in our priorities. Since May 2014, over 225,500 jobs have been created in Quebec; the unemployment rate has been at an all-time low for several months; over 1,000,000 Quebecers now have access to a family doctor; taxes have decreased; and major investments have been made in health and education, in particular.
I am proud of the work our government has achieved. I can look my four children directly in the eyes and tell them that we will build them a new, ambitious and prosperous Quebec, where they will have the freedom to make choices that will help them realize their greatest dreams. I am also proud of the work accomplished in Sherbrooke, and over the course of the upcoming campaign, I will propose to the people of Sherbrooke that they go even further in order for our city to become a top living environment for those with both career goals and a desire for an exceptional quality of life.
– Luc Fortin, MNA for Sherbrooke, Minister of Families, Minister responsible for the Estrie region and Liberal candidate for the 2018 general election.
