Monsef Derraji, liberal candidate in the riding of Nelligan

En route to the 2018 general election

Pierrefonds, August 21, 2018. – With great pride, Philippe Couillard, Leader of the Quebec Liberal Party (QLP) and Premier of Québec, announced the nomination of Monsef Derraji as the QLP’s official candidate in the riding of Nelligan for the 2018 general election.

Monsef’s background shows his desire to contribute to the economic and social development of Québec. Guided as always by his deep convictions, he chose the Quebec Liberal Party to take his involvement to the next level. I am convinced that he will help improve the daily lives of residents of the riding of Nelligan. I am proud today that Monsef is joining our experienced, strengthened and renewed team.

I am honoured to be the Liberal candidate in the beautiful riding of Nelligan. I can’t hide all my excitement and motivation. I am determined to meet the voters of Nelligan, talk to them and hear their ideas during the election campaign. I’m a hands-on man, and I’ll be active on the ground during the campaign as well as after it.

Note that the Liberal government has balanced our public finances to give us the means to invest more in our priorities. Since May 2014, over 214,600 jobs have been created in Québec; the unemployment rate has been at an all-time low for several months; over 1,000,000 Quebecers now have access to a family doctor; taxes have decreased; and major investments have been made, particularly in health and education.

Faced with American protectionism and the labour shortage that is already being felt, now more than ever our SMEs need a strong, experienced government that has the credibility to defend them. Only the Quebec Liberal Party team, with Philippe Couillard at its head, can meet this challenge.
