More time, money and services for families


Sherbrooke, September 25, 2018. —Throughout the election campaign, the Quebec Liberal Party made concrete commitments to make life easier for families and make a real difference in their day to day.

Health care services that are more accessible

  • 25 super-clinics, open 7 days a week, 12 hours a day;
  • Access to a family doctor for 90% of the population by the end of the 2nd mandate;
  • Free basic dental care for children 16 years of age and under;
  • A 2nd Medicare card for all children under age 14.

Better early childhood services to prepare our children’s future success

  • Free educational services at age 4, in kindergarten or in childcare services;
  • More support, money and material and an enhanced educational program for children enrolled in educational child care services;
  • A 2nd person to assist teachers in kindergarten and grade 1 classrooms and teachers that are better paid.

Time, money and services that are adapted to new realities

  • A more flexible Quebec Parental Insurance Plan;
  • 2,000 new spaces in subsidized childcare services where parents work and study;
  • Up to $300 per child per family, according to household income.

More support for families with handicapped children

  • An intermediate financial assistance program for an additional 10,000 handicapped children;
  •  A basic income as of age 18, without a waiting period, for handicapped children who are unable to work;
  • More respite services for families with a handicapped person.

Making life easier for families giving them more resources to fulfill their projects and adapting to their realities, while encouraging better work-family balance. It’s also offering assistance that is tailored to the realities of families with special needs. Our commitments are concrete and a part of wider vision for Quebec’s future; a Quebec that is more prosperous, fairer and greener, where it is good to live and good to grow old.
