Online health information: Minister Gaétan Barrette announces the launch of the Québec Health Booklet

With a view to making life easier for Quebecers, the Government of Quebec is launching the Québec Health Booklet, an online service that will allow users of the healthcare and social services network to access their health information at any time.

Today, Minister of Health and Social Services Gaétan Barrette announced this progressive project, which will be made available to a part of the population before its full implementation across Quebec in spring 2018.

Residents of Laval who are registered with a family doctor at a medical clinic in Laval, as well as people registered with a family doctor at Québec City’s super-clinic, MAclinique Lebourgneuf, will have access to the Québec Health Booklet as of January 5, 2018. Thanks to a secure authentication service, patients of these super-clinics will be able to:

  • See their list of the medications obtained at a neighbourhood pharmacy;
  • Consult their test results;
  • Consult their medical imaging results;
  • Schedule an appointment online with a family doctor using the Québec Medical Appointment Scheduler, cancel an appointment and see their appointments history;
  • Register with the Québec Family Doctor Finder and modify their registration, if necessary.

Quote:

The Québec Health Booklet is a secure, user-friendly tool that will allow Quebecers to manage their health more effectively and contribute better to the success of the treatments that they are prescribed. I am convinced that citizens and healthcare professionals will see the positive effects of this service, which will be accessible in 2018. The Québec Health Booklet will become an essential tool for monitoring one’s health !

Gaétan Barrette, Minister of Health and Social Services

Key facts:

During the months following the launch of the Québec Health Booklet, users will be able to leave comments and give their opinion of the service. The goal of this process is to give the population a tool that will meet its needs when it is launched province-wide.

The service will be offered across all of Quebec in spring 2018. Over time, other services will be added to those that are already available, according to established priorities and to users’ needs.

The Québec Health Booklet is one more step among the many efforts taken by the Government of Quebec to offer the population updated electronic services as part of its digital shift.
