Position to be filled: Director General and Chief Organizer of the QLP


The Quebec Liberal Party is currently seeking to fill the permanent position of Director General and Chief Organizer.

Mr. Sylvain Langis, who has been the Quebec Liberal Party’s Director General since 2015, recently informed the Party Executive that he intends to step down from his position by the summer of 2019. Thus, the Quebec Liberal Party has launched a call for applications to fill the position of Director General and Chief Organizer. In order to ensure both a smooth transition and the continuation of Quebec Liberal Party activities and projects currently underway, Mr. Langis will remain in office until his successor is chosen.

Main responsibilities

The Director General and Chief Organizer oversees the Party’s employees and permanent services. He or she recommends action plans for the permanent services. He or she carries out the specific mandates entrusted to them by the Executive Committee and the Management Committee. He or she provides an account of the day-to-day administration of Party affairs for which he or she is responsible and drafts reports for the Executive Committee or Management Committee, as the case may be, for matters that fall within their purview. He or she also works to identify potential candidates as well as oversees the organization of by-elections and the preparation and organization of general elections. In collaboration with his or her team, he or she ensures that the Party is well organized in each of Quebec’s 125 electoral ridings.

Working location:
Montreal, the position requires frequent travel throughout Quebec

Duration:
Full time, permanent

April 2019, exact start date to be discussed with the selected candidate

Profile requirements

  • Good knowledge of the Party, its culture and its structure
  • Experience managing a large organization and managing personnel
  • Election organization experience
  • Excellent communicator
  • Significant availability
  • Good teamwork and mobilization skills
  • Demonstrate autonomy and conscientiousness in the exercise of his/her responsibilities
  • Possess a strategic vision
  • Excellent judgment and sense of ethics
  • Mastery of the French and English languages (spoken and written)
