Anabela Monteiro

Anabela Monteiro: a choice candidate for Vimont

Constituency office manager and political advisor to the current MNA for Vimont, Jean Rousselle, Anabela Monteiro has 20 years of experience in the provincial public sector, notably for the Ministère des Relations avec les citoyens et de l’Immigration from 2003 to 2005 and for the Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles from 2005 to 2012.

Resolutely committed to the citizens of Vimont, Anabela Monteiro holds the position of administrator for the Service bénévole d’entraide de Vimont-Auteuil, which assists people experiencing a loss of autonomy. Recipient of the Portuguese Canadian Community Personality of the Year Award from the LusoPresse newspaper in 2016, Anabela is also involved as a host for the Portuguese television channel FPTV. During her many years of involvement with various community organizations working in Vimont, she has acquired an unparalleled proximity to the needs of the area and an increased knowledge of her fellow citizens’ priorities.

Also a mother of two young children, aged 9 and 11, and highly aware of the needs of all the communities in Vimont, Anabela Monteiro is taking the plunge into active politics in order to contribute to economic growth, environmental protection, the fight against climate change, affordable daycare services, as well as access to a family doctor and mental health care for all. With the quality of life of her fellow citizens at heart, she wants to collaborate with local merchants to find innovative solutions to the labour shortage.

Her experience in active politics and her proximity to local issues make her a candidate of choice for the riding of Vimont. Anabela Monteiro will be able to continue the work accomplished by MNA Jean Rousselle, by continuing to provide a strong voice to the communities of Vimont, particularly for the protection of the Boisé d’Auteuil.
