Michelle Setlakwe wants to continue to carry the priorities of the communities of Mont-Royal-Outremont at the National Assembly

A member of the Barreau du Québec since 1996, Michelle Setlakwe practised corporate law at Norton Rose for ten years. The Liberal candidate also held the position of city councillor for the Town of Mount-Royal from 2016 to 2021. During those five years of experience in municipal politics, Michelle Setlakwe made a difference that directly impacted her fellow citizens by becoming involved in a wide array of files with local stakeholders. She also chaired the YES committee during a referendum for a sport and community centre project for the Town of Mount-Royal.

This mother of three teens is actively involved in the Mont-Royal–Outremont community, including with the MultiCaf organization that works towards food security and fights social exclusion in Côte-des-Neiges. Michelle Setlakwe was also involved in the Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf and the CHU Saint-Justine foundations. She was the recipient of the 2012 and 2018-2019 France Racicot Award which underscored her unwavering commitment to the Saint-Clément Foundation.

Of Armenian and French-Canadian descent, Michelle left her hometown of Thetford Mines for the riding of Mont-Royal–Outremont some 30 years ago to study law at the Université de Montréal. The Liberal candidate grew up in a bilingual family environment.

As far as Michelle Setlakwe is concerned, the richness of our society rests on its diversity and she believes that Mont-Royal–Outremont is a prime example of the inclusive pluralism of which we can be proud. All of Mont-Royal–Outremont’s communities will be able to rely on her listening, demonstrating empathy and being conscientious as she steadfastly carries their voices to the National Assembly and responds to the needs of all of her fellow citizens, thereby contributing to improving the quality of their living environment.
