Montreal, August 7, 2026 \u2014 The Quebec Liberal Party is proud to announce the candidacy of Ms. Na\u00efma Maryl\u00e8ne Indira Som in the Pointe-aux-Trembles riding for the upcoming general election.<\/p>\n
Na\u00efma Maryl\u00e8ne Indira Som, a 26-year-old insurance advisor, is making the leap into provincial politics to join the Quebec Liberal Party under the leadership of Charles Milliard.<\/p>\n
A graduate with a bachelor\u2019s degree in political science from the Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al (UQAM), the PLQ candidate in Pointe-aux-Trembles is currently pursuing a master\u2019s degree in the same field, with a concentration in international politics and international law.<\/p>\n
In her role as an insurance advisor, she helps individuals and families who are looking to protect what matters most to them. Her experience in management and working with children on the autism spectrum (ASD) has strengthened her sense of responsibility and her focus on finding solutions.<\/p>\n
As a volunteer board member at a youth center, Na\u00efma Maryl\u00e8ne Indira Som believes that lasting change begins with civic engagement. Attuned to the realities faced by families and young people, she advocates for policies based on active listening, integrity, and rigor, and hopes to help improve access to quality education and effective public services.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIn both my professional and volunteer work, I\u2019ve learned that people want to be heard and want us to keep our promises. That\u2019s what I want to offer the citizens here: a representative who is present, accessible, and diligent. I also want to show my generation that it has a rightful place in the debates that will shape its future, and that is why I am joining forces with Charles Milliard in the run-up to October 5.\u201d<\/p>\n
