Rivi\u00e8re-du-Loup, September 3, 2026<\/strong> \u2013 Receiving care shouldn\u2019t always mean putting your life on hold. Charles Milliard proposes creating a public telehealth portal available to all Quebecers, to bring care closer to patients and make their lives easier.<\/p>\n

Even today, a doctor\u2019s appointment lasting just a few minutes may require taking time off work, arranging childcare, or spending hours on the road. When circumstances allow, Quebecers should be able to avoid these inconveniences.<\/p>\n

Telehealth will be fully integrated into primary care and will rely on an interdisciplinary approach to ensure that patients have access to the appropriate healthcare professional based on their needs\u2014such as a nurse, a physician\u2019s assistant, or a doctor. Care that requires an examination or in-person presence will, of course, continue to be provided in person.<\/p>\n

This new entry point will also allow us to make better use of everyone\u2019s skills and the network\u2019s resources. In the face of a shortage, the PLQ wants to place its trust in the professionals we train and enable them to contribute fully to patient care.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn appointment that lasts just a few minutes shouldn\u2019t take up hours of your day. When care can be provided remotely, let\u2019s give Quebecers that option. Our goal is simple: less time waiting or traveling, and more time for family, work, and life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pierre Cossette:<\/strong> Physician, professor, renowned administrator, former dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Sherbrooke, and Liberal candidate in Sherbrooke.<\/p>\n

Monsef Derraji:<\/strong> He holds a Ph.D. in public health from the University of Montreal, served as the Liberal Party\u2019s spokesperson on health issues for several years, and was the Liberal candidate in Nelligan.<\/p>\n

Andr\u00e9 Fortin:<\/strong> A spokesperson on health issues for several years, a staunch advocate for access to healthcare in rural areas, and a Liberal candidate in Pontiac.<\/p>\n

Yvena Luc:<\/strong> A clinical nurse with experience working in hospitals, long-term care facilities (CHSLDs), and community health centers (CLSCs), and an independent candidate in Repentigny.<\/p>\n

Agathe Owana<\/strong> :<\/strong> An experienced social worker specializing in mental health and an independent candidate in Les Plaines.<\/p>\n

Annie Pronovost:<\/strong> Night shift mental health nurse and independent candidate in Champlain.<\/p>\n
