After eight years of waste under the CAQ, costly projects that never come to fruition, and repeated digital fiascos, Quebec needs a change of course. The PLQ\u2019s economic team has the expertise to restore order to public finances and will make responsible choices to revive Quebec\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n<p>A Quebec Liberal Party government will quickly tackle red tape and work tirelessly to modernize the government\u2019s interactions with citizens and businesses to give Quebecers some breathing room. To this end, it will, among other things, establish the \u201cEfficacit\u00e9 Qu\u00e9bec\u201d team to undertake a major review of government programs and corporate taxation. A Liberal government will also appoint a parliamentary budget director to sustainably strengthen public confidence in the government\u2019s budgetary process.<\/p>\n<p>The PLQ will also make digital transformation a government priority in order to put an end to the string of costly digital fiascos. A major change in governance and strong in-house expertise will enable us to move toward digital sovereignty and maximize the value of every dollar invested to better serve Quebecers.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the leader of the Quebec Liberal Party, Charles Milliard, has pledged to return to a balanced budget as early as 2029\u20132030 through realistic management of public finances, which will allow for reinvestment in Quebecers\u2019 priorities: health care, education, and higher education.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cI am fortunate to lead a credible economic team that is determined to make Quebec an economic powerhouse in a changing world. After eight years in which the CAQ government failed to manage our public finances, Quebecers are clear: they want change, they want value for their money, and they don\u2019t want a referendum.
