En route to the 2018 general election
Québec City, February 28, 2018 – Surrounded by many party members and supporters, Florent Tanlet was nominated as the official candidate of the Quebec Liberal Party (QLP) in the riding of Taschereau for the upcoming 2018 general election.
I’m involved in politics in order to represent my fellow citizens of Taschereau with all my energy and my strong sense of belonging to this riding. It’s a lively urban area that I chose to make my home a year ago, because I find it has an incredible neighbourhood spirit, where people are close-knit, open-minded and ready to help each other. Through my political activity, I hope to represent all my fellow residents and, in particular, improve the situation of seniors, immigrants, the LGBTQ community, youth and the underprivileged.

New tools for listening to citizens
The candidate took this opportunity to invite the citizens of this riding to share their priorities and concerns with him by filling out an online survey or scheduling a personal meeting in a local café or restaurant.

I’m all ears for my fellow citizens because I want to get to know the people of Taschereau and their concerns even better. My convictions, my passion and my attachment to this riding are what pushed me to choose politics as a way to move the riding of Taschereau forward, and it’s with the Quebec Liberal Party that I hope to fulfill this mission.

The Liberal government has restored balance to public finances in order to give Quebec society the means to invest more in its priorities. Since May 2014, more than 225,500 jobs have been created in Quebec; the unemployment rate has been at a record low for several months; over 1,000,000 Quebecers have found a family doctor; taxes are lower; and major investments have been made in health and education, in particular.
