Montreal, March 30, 2026 - In the presence of the leader of the Quebec Liberal Party, Mr. Charles Milliard, and more than a hundred activists from the region, Mr. André A. Morin was officially nominated as the QLP candidate in the Acadie riding.
A native of his riding, Mr. Morin is seeking a second term as MNA for Acadie. Over the past four years, he has served as Official Opposition critic for immigration, francization and integration, justice, and relations with First Nations and Inuit. He is also Vice-Chairman of the Commission des relations avec les citoyens, in addition to being the critic responsible for the Nord-du-Québec region.
Before entering politics, this doctor of comparative criminal law and legal history was Chief Federal Prosecutor at the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, having previously served as Acting Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions at the same organization. In addition to practicing law, Mr. Morin was also a professor, teaching at the universities of Ottawa and Montreal for over two decades.
He has also been involved in numerous organizations, notably as a volunteer with Accueil Bonneau, a director of Ambulance Saint-Jean and the Conseil du Québec, a volunteer with the Cantine des Œuvres Saint-Jacques, a director of the Club nautique de Mézy and co-founder of the École de voile de Boucherville.
