En route to the 2018 general election
Sorel-Tracy, June 20, 2018. – Surrounded by many party members and supporters, Sophie Chevalier was nominated as the official candidate for the Quebec Liberal Party (QLP) in the riding of Richelieu for the upcoming 2018 general election.
It is with high hopes that I am announcing my candidacy this evening in the beautiful riding of Richelieu. I strongly believe that the people of Richelieu are now ready to add a representative to the Quebec Liberal Party’s strong, experienced team.
– Sophie Chevalier, Liberal candidate in the 2018 general election.
Note that the Liberal government has balanced our public finances to give us the means to invest more in our priorities. Since May 2014, more than 229,500 jobs have been created in Québec; the unemployment rate has been at an all-time low for several months; over 1,000,000 Quebecers now have access to a family doctor; taxes have decreased; and major investments have been made, particularly in health and education.
Previous Liberal MNAs, like Gérard Cournoyer, Claude Simard and Albert Khelfa, were always attentive and actively involved with the population, and I intend to pick up the torch in that same spirit in order to improve the quality of life of the residents of the riding of Richelieu.
