Pontiac, May 2, 2026 - In the presence of Quebec Liberal Party leader Charles Milliard and numerous local activists, André Fortin was officially invested as the QLP candidate in the riding of Pontiac, where he will be seeking a fourth mandate.
Involved in his community and public life for many years, André Fortin has chosen to pursue his political commitment under the Liberal banner. Born in Quyon and a resident of Aylmer, he is deeply rooted in his region and well aware of the realities affecting families in Aylmer and Pontiac. With an MBA from the University of Ottawa, he also has a solid background in public management. Before entering politics, he held a number of strategic positions, including Director of Public Affairs at the Brewers Association of Canada and Director of Government Affairs at TELUS, developing a fine understanding of economic and institutional issues.
André Fortin's political involvement has been particularly notable at the national and provincial levels, where he has held various roles on government teams and in ministerial cabinets. Elected Member of the National Assembly for Pontiac, he also held important positions, including Minister of Transport, Sustainable Mobility and Electrification
of Transportation and Parliamentary Leader of the Official Opposition. Throughout his career, he has stood out for his rigor, his sense of responsibility and his ability to deliver concrete results for his community.
With many years of experience in politics and public affairs, André Fortin is particularly sensitive to the importance of responsible decisions for the future of Quebec and its regions. His knowledge of the field, his commitment to citizens and his ability to bring people together make him an ideal candidate to represent the voters of Pontiac.
