Shefford, June 29, 2026 — In the presence of Quebec Liberal Party leader Charles Milliard and local party activists, Mr. Éric Sévigny was officially nominated as the Quebec Liberal Party’s candidate in the Daniel-Johnson riding for the upcoming general election.
A native of the Estrie region, Éric Sévigny has dedicated his career to land-use planning, economic development, and municipal management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of Sherbrooke and a master’s degree in urban planning from the University of Montreal, and has more than twenty years of experience serving local communities.
After beginning his career in the federal civil service in the fields of transportation and greenhouse gas emissions reduction, he chose to put his expertise to work in the municipal sector. He has served successively as city manager for Waterloo, Bromont, and, most recently, Sherbrooke.
Throughout his career, Éric Sévigny has led several key projects for the Estrie region, including the revitalization of residential, commercial, and industrial areas; the development of municipal infrastructure; the creation of regional partnerships; and the growth of innovation hubs. In Bromont, he played a key role in securing the designation of Technum Québec, the Microelectronics Innovation Zone. In Sherbrooke, he actively participated in the development of DistriQ, Quebec’s first Quantum Innovation Zone.
Deeply committed to his region, Éric Sévigny now hopes to put his experience in public administration, regional development, and governance to work for the citizens of Daniel-Johnson. Convinced that the regions must be at the heart of Quebec’s development, he intends to vigorously defend the priorities of families, entrepreneurs, and municipalities in the beautiful Daniel-Johnson riding.
“For more than twenty years, I have had the privilege of contributing to the development of communities that are deeply close to my heart. I am well aware of the extraordinary potential of the Estrie, Montérégie, and Centre-du-Québec regions, but also of the challenges facing our municipalities, businesses, and families. Today, I wish to continue this commitment in a different way—by representing the citizens of Daniel-Johnson in the National Assembly. I am proud to join Charles Milliard’s team and am convinced that we can provide leadership that trusts the regions and gives them the means to succeed.”
— Éric Sévigny, PLQ candidate in Daniel-Johnson
“Éric Sévigny is an exceptional leader who has dedicated his career to advancing concrete projects for citizens. Whether in Waterloo, Bromont, or Sherbrooke, he has consistently demonstrated that sound management, a long-term vision, and the ability to mobilize partners can transform communities. His unique experience in municipal government and regional development will be a considerable asset for the residents of Daniel-Johnson and for our entire team.”
