Quebec City, on April 14, 2026 — In the presence of Quebec Liberal Party leader Charles Milliard, Farnell Morisset’s candidacy as the QLP candidate in the Taschereau riding was announced today via a video posted on social media.
A civil engineer by training with a degree from Laval University and a bachelor’s degree in law with a minor in economics from McGill University, Mr. Morisset has accumulated more than a decade of professional experience in Quebec and abroad, first as an international business development engineer for a company at the Quebec Technology Park, and then, for seven years, as an attorney specializing in mergers and acquisitions and global investment funds at a major business law firm in New York. He also holds a master’s degree with distinction from the London School of Economics.
Alongside his career, Mr. Morisset has been involved in public life as campaign manager and financial officer for MP Joël Lightbound during the 2015 and 2019 federal elections. Since 2021, he has been posting short, accessible videos on social media about legal, economic, and political issues specific to Quebec; these reach more than two million people each year and earned him a spot on La Presse’s list of the “12 Real Influencers” in 2023. Having moved back to downtown Québec City in 2024 to be closer to his family, he is now firmly rooted in the daily life of the Taschereau riding.
“My heart has always been in Québec City. It’s the city to which I owe who I am. Today, I want to bring the voice of downtown residents to the National Assembly: the voices of those who see their financial breathing room shrinking month after month, who see people caught up in the homelessness crisis, and who see the easy scapegoats as well as the simplistic or radical solutions—mere distractions from the serious work we must accomplish together. I am running to actively defend freedom, an economy that serves everyone, and the social safety net that allows each person to contribute to Quebec’s strength—and to ensure that what we leave to future generations is even better than what we received. These are the values that drive me—the values I see embodied today by the Quebec Liberal Party, and the values I share with Charles Milliard, which is why I have confidence in him.”
— Farnell Morisset, QLP candidate in Taschereau
“Farnell Morisset’s candidacy on the Liberal ticket is excellent news for voters in Taschereau and for our caucus. An engineer, a lawyer admitted to the New York Bar, and an outstanding communicator, Farnell brings unique expertise in law, economics, and international affairs. His commitment to protecting fundamental freedoms and an economy that benefits everyone perfectly embodies Liberal values. I am very pleased to have him by my side for the general election this coming October!”
