Montreal, June 8, 2026 — In the presence of the leader of the Quebec Liberal Party, Mr. Charles Milliard, and numerous party members, Ms. Filomena Rotiroti was officially nominated as the PLQ candidate in the Jeanne-Mance–Viger riding.

A native of Montreal and resident of Saint-Léonard, Ms. Rotiroti is seeking a sixth term as the Member of the National Assembly for Jeanne-Mance–Viger. During her seventeen years in the National Assembly, she currently serves as the official opposition’s spokesperson on Infrastructure, Regional Economic Development, the Metropolis, and Employment, as well as chair of the Committee on Culture and Education.

A native of East Montreal, Filomena Rotiroti studied political science at Concordia University. Passionate about politics since the 1995 referendum, she began her career as a coordinator for the Quebec Liberal Party before becoming a political aide to the Member of the National Assembly for Anjou. She was then appointed political advisor to the Minister of Economic and Regional Development, and later served as chief of staff to the Minister of Immigration and Cultural Communities. Building on this experience at the heart of the government, she was first elected to represent Jeanne-Mance–Viger in 2008.

Throughout her five terms in office, the member for Jeanne-Mance–Viger has distinguished herself through her leadership within the Liberal caucus. She has successively served as chair of the Liberal government caucus (2017–2018), chair of the Official Opposition caucus (2018–2020 et 2025), and chief whip of the Official Opposition (2022–2025 et 2026). She was actively involved in issues related to tourism, immigration, and francization before focusing her efforts on infrastructure, regional economic development, and the Métropole.

Ms. Rotiroti’s commitment extends far beyond her parliamentary work. Deeply rooted in the Saint-Léonard community, she maintains close ties with local organizations. A hands-on leader, she has spent the past seventeen years building relationships based on trust with the residents and business leaders in her district.

“Since 2008, I have had the honor of representing the citizens of Jeanne-Mance–Viger in the National Assembly with conviction and determination, and I am more determined than ever to win a sixth term. The Metropolis deserves a strong and experienced voice to defend its interests in infrastructure, economic development, and employment. It is with pride and enthusiasm that I am once again committing myself to the campaign under the leadership of Charles Milliard, in whom I have complete confidence to bring the PLQ back to power.”

“For seventeen years now, the Liberal caucus has been fortunate to have Filomena at the table. Chief Whip, two-time caucus chair, and spokesperson on the most strategic issues for Montreal: Filomena Rotiroti is an experienced legislator whose leadership and rigor are a valuable asset to our party. As spokesperson on infrastructure, economic development, and the Metropolis, she champions these issues with conviction. Filomena embodies the Liberal commitment to a strong Metropolis and a prosperous Quebec. I’m really looking forward to campaigning alongside her next fall!”
