Saint-Jean-Port-Joli , may 3 1 st 2026. - Members of the Quebec Liberal Party in the Côte-du-Sud riding have chosen Laurier Michaud, to represent them in the next general election. The result was announced this Saturday, following an open nomination meeting attended by members residing in the riding.
Laurier Michaud thus becomes the official candidate of the Quebec Liberal Party in Côte-du-Sud. The Party salutes the commitment of Nancy St-Pierre and Benoît Cloutier, who were also candidates for this open nomination.
With this clear endorsement from members, Laurier Michaud now begins the groundwork that will lead the Liberals to victory in Côte-du-Sud in next October's general election.
A native of Saint-Athanase, Témiscouata, Laurier Michaud studied police technology at Collège de Maisonneuve before embarking on a career spanning more than thirty years with the Sûreté du Québec, ending as a relief sergeant. A resident of Côte-du-Sud for 28 years, he is keen to put his experience to good use for the citizens of his riding. Among his priorities are support for regional development and access to cellular connection throughout the territory, an issue that contributes in particular to better protecting victims of domestic violence.
