Boucherville, May 31, 2026 - It was in the presence of the leader of the Quebec Liberal Party, Mr. Charles Milliard, and several activists from the region that Mr. Mathieu Lavoie was officially invested as the QLP candidate in the Montarville riding.
After a career at the intersection of artistic creation, entrepreneurship and technological innovation, Mathieu Lavoie made the leap into provincial politics with the Quebec Liberal Party. With a doctorate in composition, he has devoted his career to sound architecture, creating immersive soundscapes for global franchises such as Star Trek and Dungeons & Dragons. As a teacher, he was also an associate professor at UQAM for a decade, training a new generation of creators. Driven by the conviction that creativity and artificial intelligence are essential levers for modernizing Quebec institutions, he decided to enter politics.
In 2013, Mathieu Lavoie co-founded Vibe Avenue, an audio innovation studio he ran for almost ten years. He orchestrated its merger-acquisition by Side (PTW), a global file leader in audio production - a transaction that illustrates his ability to build and grow a world-class creative company.
Senior director and composer at Side (PTW), Mathieu Lavoie now manages the Montreal studio while developing his creative expertise internationally. With a front-row seat to the technological revolution transforming the creative industries, he has a clear and concrete vision of the impact that new technologies can have on the Quebec economy and on the modernization of our collective services.
Convinced that Montarville deserves an innovative and ambitious voice in the National Assembly, Mathieu Lavoie wishes to put his unique expertise to benefit the citizens of the riding. Technological innovation is at the heart of his project: in a Quebec where SMEs and creative sectors have to adapt quickly to new technologies, he wants to promote a vision of competitiveness based on innovation. Promoting the creative economy and modernizing public services through digital technology are among his priorities. His background as a creator, entrepreneur and educator makes him a candidate capable of translating complex issues into concrete public policies.
"I've spent my career creating, building and innovating, convinced that creativity is the most powerful driving force in our society. The rapid development of new technologies is transforming our economy at a dizzying pace - and Quebec has what it takes to be a world leader. It is with this conviction that I am running in Montarville, alongside Charles Milliard, to bring this ambition to the National Assembly."
