La Prairie, July 31, 2026 — The Quebec Liberal Party is proud to announce Ms. Sonia Ziadé as its candidate in the riding of La Prairie for the upcoming general election.
A native of Montreal’s South Shore, Sonia Ziadé has devoted more than twenty years of her career to the fields of management, economic development, international relations, and public service. Throughout her professional career, she has developed solid expertise in organizational support, business development, and strategic project management.
A graduate of Laval University and McGill University, Sonia Ziadé has also pursued studies in land-use planning and local development. This background, combined with her experience in economic development, gives her a deep understanding of the challenges related to urban growth, infrastructure, mobility, and the harmonious development of communities.
With professional experience in Washington, D.C., where she worked as a program manager promoting hands-on and theoretical learning for students interested in international trade and free trade agreements, the QLP candidate in La Prairie has gained in-depth knowledge of Canada-U.S. relations and cross-border trade issues. This expertise is particularly valuable in the current economic climate, as many businesses in the region—particularly in the manufacturing and agri-food sectors—are grappling with the uncertainty surrounding trade with our primary economic partner.
Recognized for her leadership, her dynamism, and her ability to build lasting partnerships, Sonia Ziadé now hopes to put her experience to work for the residents of La Prairie, Candiac, Saint-Philippe, and Delson. She intends to bring a pragmatic voice to Quebec City—one that listens to residents and is firmly focused on economic development and the quality of life for families in the region.
“La Prairie is a dynamic region with immense potential. I want to put my experience in economic development, international relations, and management to work for the citizens so that I can help build prosperous communities where families, entrepreneurs, and workers can fully realize their ambitions. I am very proud to represent the Quebec Liberal Party and to work toward building a future that lives up to our region’s potential.”
— Sonia Ziadé, QLP candidate in La Prairie
“Sonia Ziadé brings a combination of experiences that directly addresses the challenges Quebec faces today. She understands the realities of business, international economic issues, and the needs of rapidly growing communities. Her leadership, her knowledge of economic development, and her ability to build strong relationships will make her an excellent representative for the citizens of La Prairie. I am very pleased to welcome her to our team.”
