The Quebec Liberal Party announces that the Executive Council has adopted the complete terms and conditions governing the 2026 leadership race, in accordance with the outline already made public last December.
These terms and conditions detail all the rules applicable to the process, particularly with regard to timing, candidate eligibility, financing, election expenses, the conduct of the various phases of the race, voting, as well as compliance and ethics. They are designed to ensure a rigorous, transparent and fair race that complies with the Election Act and the Party's constitution.
Chaired by Me Nicolas Plourde, the Electoral Committee is responsible for applying and respecting these terms and conditions throughout the process leading to the election of the next leader of the Liberal Party of Québec.

The QLP also announces that the Executive Council has appointed Patrick Huot as General Manager of the Quebec Liberal Party. Patrick was General Manager from 2023 to 2025, the period during which the last leadership race was held. Since last September, he has been a member of the parliamentary team in Quebec City.
MNA from 2008 to 2012 and from 2014 to 2018, Patrick was also Chief of Staff to the Leader of the Official Opposition at the National Assembly. He is well acquainted with the Quebec Liberal Party, its governing bodies and its activists. His experience and knowledge of the organization will be important assets in ensuring the stability and smooth running of the Party.
