Trois-Rivières, April 29, 2026 - In the presence of the leader of the Quebec Liberal Party, Charles Milliard, and a number of local activists, Annie Pronovost was officially nominated as the QLP candidate in the riding of Champlain.
A native of the Mauricie municipality of Saint-Tite, Annie Pronovost is a nurse by profession and has worked in the healthcare network for many years. In 2017, she made the leap into municipal politics, first as a councillor, then as mayor of the municipality of Saint-Tite.
A full-time night nurse in mental health, she reconciled her professional responsibilities with her political duties for nearly eight years. Supported by her family, she worked tirelessly for the common good of her community, pursuing both her work in the public health network and her commitment to municipal politics. This dual commitment bears witness to her deep dedication to public service.
With her keen interest in provincial politics, Annie Pronovost has a concrete understanding of the healthcare network and the realities of the municipal world, both of which she has worked with from the inside. This experience has given her invaluable expertise, which she now wishes to put to good use on the provincial scene, as part of a political party aspiring to form the next government.
As mayor of Saint-Tite, she oversaw a number of important projects for the region, including the upgrading of the arena and the launch of calls for tenders to bring the drinking water system up to standard. In a context where the infrastructure maintenance deficit represents a major challenge, Ms. Pronovost understands the concrete impact of these issues on the ground. She embodies the type of candidate Quebec needs: an elected official who understands the realities of the regions and small municipalities, and who will be able to defend the interests of the regions at the national level.
"I'm very excited about the prospect of running for the Québec Liberal Party in the riding of Champlain. My interest in provincial politics is based on my firm conviction that it is at this level that I can continue to uphold the values I developed as a nurse, and then as mayor of Saint-Tite, particularly in the areas of health and municipalities. I wish to pursue this commitment alongside our leader, Mr. Charles Milliard, in whom I have full confidence to lead the troops in the next election campaign."
- Annie Pronovost, QLP candidate in Champlain
"Annie Pronovost's candidacy in the riding of Champlain is excellent news for our party, but especially for the voters of the region, who first knew her as a night nurse, then as mayor of Saint-Tite. Annie Pronovost's boundless commitment to her community, as well as her experience in the healthcare network and in municipal politics, make her a candidate of choice for the region. I can't wait to begin this adventure with her!"
- Charles Milliard, Leader of the Quebec Liberal Party
