En route to the 2018 general election
Cap-aux-Meules, July 7, 2018. – Surrounded by many party members and supporters, Maryse Lapierre was nominated as the official candidate for the Quebec Liberal Party (QLP) in the riding of Îles-de-la-Madeleine for the upcoming 2018 general election.
My desire to get involved in politics and represent my region and its residents is rooted in my pride in our unique archipelago, in its challenges as a region, and above all, in the dynamism of its residents. Firmly rooted in my community, I am present and attentive to the needs of residents.
– Maryse Lapierre, official candidate for the 2018 general election.
Note that the Liberal government has balanced our public finances to give us the means to invest more in our priorities. Since May 2014, more than 229,500 jobs have been created in Québec; the unemployment rate has been at an all-time low for several months; over 1,000,000 Quebecers now have access to a family doctor; taxes have decreased; and major investments have been made, particularly in health and education.
Liberal governments have always been there to support the development of our archipelago and contribute to the many projects that have made the region move forward. The region’s special island status, in particular, is an important milestone in the growth of our maritime community and a decisive tool for our future. I am convinced that Maryse will be able to represent residents with all the necessary passion and strength, and that with the support of a Liberal government that believes and invests in our regions, she will achieve only great things for the Îles-de-la-Madeleine.
– Germain Chevarie, MNA for Îles-de-la-Madeleine.
