To make it easier for Quebecers to enjoy nature and the outdoors
Plaisance, September 26, 2026 – The leader of the Quebec Liberal Party, Charles Milliard, announced today his intention to make daily admission to the 23 national parks administered by Sépaq free for Quebecers and Canadians.
For the Quebec Liberal Party, national parks are part of Quebec’s collective heritage and must be accessible to as many people as possible. By eliminating the daily access fee, the PLQ aims to make the outdoors more accessible to all, bring Quebecers closer to nature and their land, and encourage them to enjoy these exceptional natural areas more fully.
This measure is also part of the Quebec Liberal Party’s commitment to placing greater emphasis on preventive health care. Walking, staying active, getting some fresh air, and enjoying nature all contribute to a healthy lifestyle. Prevention starts outdoors, too.
Free admission will also be offered to residents of other Canadian provinces and territories. The PLQ hopes to build alliances with the rest of the country and introduce Canadians to some of Quebec’s most beautiful natural areas. Our national parks can also serve as gateways to the regions, encouraging visitors to extend their stays and explore local businesses, restaurants, lodging options, and other attractions.
“Quebec has one of the most beautiful natural playgrounds in the world. Our national parks are part of our collective heritage, and we want Quebecers to be able to enjoy them to the fullest. By making access to them free, we aim to make the outdoors more accessible to everyone, inspire people to get active, and enable more families to explore their region and connect with nature.”

More Freedom for Lodging Facilities
A liberal government will also restore the freedom of lodging establishments to offer their guests, directly, better rates, discounts, perks, or more favorable terms than those offered on a booking platform.
Any contractual clause that prevents an establishment from offering better terms directly to its customers would be deemed null and void or unenforceable. The measure will apply to both so-called “extended” parity clauses and “restricted” parity clauses, so that a hotelier can, in particular, offer a better price on its own website.
Booking platforms will continue to play their full role in distribution. The goal is simple: to give Quebec tourism entrepreneurs back the freedom to decide for themselves what perks they want to offer directly to their customers.
