Biography

Member of the Quebec National Assembly for the riding of Viau since 2018, Frantz Benjamin is committed to improving the quality of life of the citizens of the Viau riding. A city councillor in the Saint-Michel district of Montreal, he chaired the Montreal City Council from 2013 to 2017 and the Montreal Intercultural Council from 2006 to 2008. Co-founder of the Fonds 1804 pour la persévérance scolaire, the MNA for Viau has been a speaker at various forums on issues of governance and intercultural relations in public institutions, as well as in the private sector. A member of the Ordre des administrateurs agréés du Québec and the Union des écrivaines et écrivains québécois, Mr. Benjamin has also acted as an advisor to a number of institutions and companies.

A graduate in communications and literature, Mr. Benjamin has published several works. His most recent collection, Nuit des anses pleines (Mémoire d'encrier, 2021, Montreal), was acclaimed by literary critics. Her work has been included in a number of anthologies and reviews, both at home and abroad. The recipient of numerous awards for his achievements and commitment to the public arena, Frantz Benjamin is also the proud father of two daughters.
