Biography
Fred Beauchemin has been active in the Canadian business community for over thirty years as a financier with Scotiabank. He has also been involved with a number of social and health organizations and foundations.
For the past ten years, Fred has held the position of General Manager and Head of Capital Markets at Scotiabank, where he set up and led a team responsible for offering the Bank's full range of risk management services in Quebec. He was responsible for business development for this service offering to commercial customers, government institutions and financial institutions in Quebec. In this capacity, he developed several structures to support the growth of large, well-known Quebec companies. During his career, he contributed to the growth of the Bank's activities in Montreal, Toronto, London and New York.
A businessman committed to the community, Fred is a member of the Board of Directors of the Fondation du Père Sablon, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping young people from all walks of life achieve their full potential through sport and the outdoors. He has also been active with the Fondation des petits rois, the Fondation Marie-Vincent and the Institut du cancer de Montréal.
By getting fully involved in political life, he hopes to bring tangible added value to the advancement of various economic, social and environmental causes.
