Biography

Laurent Bélisle, a native of Shawinigan, is a passionate communicator, a sports enthusiast at heart, deeply rooted in his region, and actively involved in its development.

A graduate of Collège Boréal in Sudbury with a degree in Business Management, a law degree from the University of Sherbrooke, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UQTR, he quickly distinguished himself through his involvement in student life. He participated in nine intercollegiate competitions and held various leadership roles on several university committees. In Sudbury, he also served on the board of directors of the Jeunes gens d’affaires francophones du Nord de l’Ontario.

Above all, Laurent is the father of two boys, for whom he hopes to help build a caring and prosperous future.

His professional career reflects an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong ability to adapt. He began his career in the tourism industry at a startup, then became an advertising representative at *Le Nouvelliste*, where he was notably involved in union negotiations with Groupe Capitales Médias. At the same time, he founded and led the nonprofit Hockey Balle Mont-Carmel for five years, reflecting his commitment to the community.

Currently the head of communications and marketing at Shalwin, a well-known architecture firm and small-to-medium-sized enterprise with 140 employees, he applies his expertise to support local businesses. He also serves on the board of directors of the Shawinigan Chamber of Commerce and has been teaching marketing at CEGEP since 2024.

Dynamic and authentic, Laurent prioritizes dialogue and places people at the heart of his actions, with clear priorities: supporting small and medium-sized businesses, improving access to healthcare, and strengthening the community fabric.
