Madeleine Féquière

Biography

Until very recently, Madeleine Féquière served as Canada’s Consul General in Chicago, where she represented Canadian interests in the U.S. Midwest. Prior to this appointment, she oversaw and supported global credit risk management at Domtar, where she implemented credit structures in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

A graduate of Concordia University, the QLP candidate in Chomedey is a recognized expert in leadership, administration, risk management, and international trade. She has held global leadership positions in several economic sectors, including agri-food, technology, software, telecommunications, pulp and paper, and personal care.

An experienced corporate director, Ms. Féquière has more than 25 years of experience serving on boards of directors and committees of organizations in the cultural, health, education, and business sectors. Notably, she has served on the board of directors of Investissement Québec, the board of the Université de Montréal, and the expert committee of the Canadian Centre for Corporate Mission. She holds a diploma from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto’s Executive Education Program in Governance, the IAS.A from the Institute of Corporate Directors, a mini-MBA from the McGill Executive Institute, and a certificate in finance from HEC Montréal, obtained in conjunction with the Canadian Credit Institute.

An internationally sought-after speaker, she is regularly invited to major conferences in her field and contributes articles to specialized journals on global credit. As a co-founder of the Excellence Québec initiative, she works to promote inclusion, diversity, equality, and accessibility by bringing promising young leaders into the fields of management, finance, and governance. She is a Member of the Order of Canada.
