Nancy Mignault

Biography

Active in her community for several years, Nancy Mignault has decided to enter provincial politics under the Liberal banner. For more than 24 years, Ms. Mignault served as executive director of Technoscience Mauricie, Centre-du-Québec, Lanaudière, and Laurentides. This organization’s mission is to foster young people’s interest in science throughout the province. In particular, she has worked to raise awareness of the scientific world among young girls, helping them see that it is possible to pursue a career in this field. This commitment to developing the next generation of Quebec talent has been the hallmark of Ms. Mignault’s dedication throughout all these years.

Nancy Mignault’s political career began at the municipal level, first as a council member for the town of Saint-Étienne-des-Grès from 2017 to 2021, and then as mayor from 2017 to 2021. She ultimately announced that she would not seek a second term ahead of last fall’s municipal elections. As mayor, she focused in particular on improving safety in residential neighborhoods near school zones and completing a skate park project that was eagerly anticipated by young people. She also made progress on several key infrastructure projects, notably those involving Route des Pins, the aerated ponds, and the drinking water supply, while managing major crises such as the impacts of Storm Debbie and the closure of Highway 55 in both directions.

With many years of experience in politics and education, Nancy Mignault is keenly aware of how important the decisions we make are for the future of our youth. Her ability to mobilize various stakeholders in the educational, economic, and political spheres will make a difference. As the ideal candidate to serve the voters of Maskinongé, she embodies the kind of leadership that riding needs.
