Biography
He holds a Ph.D. in political science from Laval University and is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Saint-Jean and the RoyalMilitary College Richard Garon has nearly 40 years of experience in the Canadian Armed Forces. Throughout his career, he has held significant command and leadership positions, both in Canada and abroad, developing recognized expertise in leadership, management, and governance, always guided by a sense of duty and respect for others.
For the past seven years, he has continued his work in the private sector as a regional manager for the Canadian company Calian. At the same time, he contributes to the advancement of knowledge as a research associate with the Chair in Public Sector Leadership at the École nationale d’administration publique and with the Research Chair on Reserve Forces at the Royal Military College of Saint-Jean, where his work focuses in particular on leadership, public administration, security, and community resilience.
Deeply rooted in Chaudière-Appalaches, Richard Garon understands the realities faced by families, entrepreneurs, farmers, and municipalities in the region. Convinced that the regions must play a more significant role in the decisions made in Quebec City, he hopes to put his experience to work for the citizens of Bellechasse to defend their interests with rigor, attentiveness, and determination.
His political commitment stems from a desire to bring citizens closer to public institutions and to help build a stronger, more effective Québec that is more attuned to the realities of all its regions.
