Biography
With a Honours Bachelor’s degree in Political Studies from York University, a dual Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs from the same university, and a Master’s degree in International Relations from Sciences Po Strasbourg, Sashmir has a rich and diverse background.
Her experience at Haiti’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva has, in particular, enabled her to develop a rigorous—but above all, deeply human—approach. She takes the time to listen, to understand each person’s circumstances, and to seek solutions that tangibly address people’s needs.
These experiences have strengthened her conviction that politics must, above all, serve people and communities.
In the National Assembly, Sashmir will be a strong voice for the people of Rousseau, champion their priorities, and drive forward the issues that truly matter to them.
