Quebec City, August 29, 2026 — The Quebec Liberal Party is proud to announce the candidacy of Mr. René-Paul Coly in the riding of Montmorency for the upcoming general election.
After completing his accounting training before moving to Quebec, René-Paul Coly settled in Quebec City in 1999. He initially pursued a career in retail as a manager, where he supervised dozens of employees. He secured a position with the Quebec government in 2009 and continues to serve as a specialist, in addition to being responsible for the Entraide campaign within his organization. He holds a college certificate in administration, accounting, and finance from Cégep de Limoilou.
The QLP candidate in Montmorency is a longtime volunteer in eastern Quebec City. He served as vice president of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society for the Sainte-Thérèse de Beauport chapter and has been active with the Beauport Soccer Association and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. As a member of the Rivières Lions Club, he participates in the Guignolée food drive, the distribution of Christmas baskets to families in need, and the Christmas dinner for the visually impaired organized by Caecitas. His commitment earned him the 2006 Champion of Values Award from his employer at the time, in the “I Am Committed to My Community” category.
René-Paul Coly is also a mentor with the organization Jeunes Leaders, as well as an ambassador and spokesperson for APEJS, which supports young people in sports and academic success. He is also one of the founders of the Pan-African Council of Quebec (COPAQ), where he currently serves as a member of the board of directors.
Married, a father, and a grandfather, he has lived in Montmorency since 2001 and serves as a council member for the Quebec Liberal Party association in riding.
